Config Dialog - Key Bindings
Config Dialog HotKey Editor
The following HotKeys page is planned to be added to the BibleTime Config Dialog. BibleTime 1.65 did have a HotKey page that was based on KDE3 Widgets. This page was turned off during the process of porting to Qt4. The new page will be based on custom Qt4 widgets.
The following dialog is based on the look of the HotKeys page as seen in BibleTime 1.65, but since the widgets are custom we do have freedom to change the look if needed.
The "Choose type" comboxbox has choices of: BibleTime, All text windows, Bible windows, Commentary windows, Lexicon windows, and Book windows. This chooses groupings of actions for those specific parts of BibleTime.
The table allows you to choose a specific action which then appears below the table. You can then choose None for no shortcut, Default for the default shortcut or custom. If you choose Custom a dialog appears. It is shown in the second picture below.
This is the dialog to choose HotKeys when the Custom shortcut is chosen. With the radio buttons choose either Primary or Alternate shortcut, then just type the new shortcut key including any modifiers such as the Shift, Control, or Alternate key. If there is no conflict with another shortcut, the chosen key appears in the correct field on the right side of the dialog.
If there is a conflict when entering a shortcut key, a dialog will appear listing the type and action name (i.e. Bible windows - Next Verse) of the conflicting shortcut(s). You can clear the conflicting shortcut(s) which allows the new shortcut or you can cancel the new shortcut. A picture of this dialog is not available yet.
